Ottavia lies on a sunny hillside close to Montalcino, in the estate where The Gladiator was shot, and facing the much-photographed road flanked by cypresses that wind up the far hill.
On the north side, the house is sheltered by a row of cypresses ending in a semi-circle, where a stone table and benches have been put for al fresco meals. Pergolas line one side of the house just beside the kitchen, and there is another pergola on the terrace in front of the smaller house, next to the pool. There are many cool corners at Ottavia for dining, reading or just enjoying the view.
Bedrooms are full of light and charming fresh colors. The garden offers several different spaces for enjoyment at all times of day.
Also outside are two dining areas, a barbecue terrace under old oak trees, and many ideal spots for reading and enjoying the views. Beautiful walks into the surrounding countryside can be taken directly from the property. The use of the tennis court in the estate is complementary and open to all guests.
